Another one that I couldn't remember. Possibly because (having now looked it up) it comes just before one of the most interesting passages in the book (or indeed the entire series): how to fly.

And the gun's not even aimed at the child; it comes out slightly towards us. It's possibly aimed at the adult, although my recollection from the time is that that wasn't true either.

Still, it was a shocking picture and I understand why. The pictures today are also shocking, just not to the right.

I remember this from the before times, when Twitter was a place to make fun of Musk, not a place to be under the thumb of Musk.

If they're vital and irreplaceable, then it's guaranteed revenue. It's only strange because we're used to him pretending that China pays the tariff instead of American consumers.

Last year, during the campaign, he was saying that magnets stop working if you dunk them in water. Maybe it's better that at least he admits his ignorance now.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm an ex-Catholic, so at least I didn't mind. It is a legitimate question, even if tradition does already have an answer.

I just appreciate that they won't be burnt at the stake this time around, probably.

She does seem to consent in Luke 1:38. Although coming as this does after being informed (not asked) that it *will* happen, it's unclear whether this is enthusiastic consent or submission to authority. (Still, you can always posit that God simply wouldn't choose her if she wasn't truly willing.)

Now I can read this with R. Crumb's illustrated Book of Genesis.

Rand Paul may have more integrity than any Democrat in the Senate.

(Or maybe not; some Democrats might try their own amendments or the like, I just haven't heard of any yet.)

I respect Pitt's commitment to historical accuracy.

This is also what gave 12 Monkeys its strong sense of believable consistency, even though Gilliam ultimately prevailed on pulling the dates back a few decades to make it seem more timely.

Has she said something suggesting this? Do we want to give her ideas? At least phrase it ‘Will you keep your name on the petition?’.

OK, this is getting ridiculous!

Whereas in the USA, where joining a party is basically synonymous with registering to vote, it wouldn't make sense to ban this. (But they are forbidden to seek or accept a party nomination. Depending on the job, some are also prohibited from being party officials or running for nonpartisan office.)
