What’s sad about this is that @gavinnewsom.bsky.social used to be so progressive and ahead of public opinion when he married same-sex couples in San Francisco. Now he’s decided to pile on the trans community and make MAGA folks who believe the Civil Rights Act should be rescinded look reasonable.
the thing about chasing what you think is public opinion is that if and when things turn you will have made a bunch of statements and taken a bunch of stances that you’ll have to disavow. probably a better strategy just to say what you actually believe and stand by it. anyway, this guy sucks.

My biggest issue with Democrats in Congress right now is that they are responding like people who don’t have anything to lose. And that is why their responses are inadequate to most Americans. If they were losing their healthcare or being separated from their family or losing their job…
