I feel bad for my students who when they heard that gunshot knew that what they had been doing drills for their whole school lives was now happening in front of them. They deserve a better world.

Loving Paisley Rekdal's writing in the NYT. Soldiers would benefit a lot more from hearing poets and experts on war than being taught to be submissive to Trump at every turn as if they were a Royal Army.

Tech Inevitability around AI is the most irritating fallacy. Why would anyone think that an annoying technology that people don't widely like and which is environmentally unsustainable and difficult to monetize will never go away?Weren't we all supposed to be teaching and learning from MOOCs by now?

Having sat through sales pitches for these kind of AI services they make teachers just consumers of external products and plug kids into services they don’t fully understand. The idea that textual analysis would be enhanced by talking to an AI plagiarism bot pretending to be Anne Frank is wild
