About 1.45 million warriors eligible for Trump's $1776 payment.
1,450,000 x $1776 = $2.575 Billion dollars.
Trump is giving away 2.575 Billion dollars with no Congressional approval. The deficit will be so huge when he's done. We're bankrupt. #ETTD

The Republican Congress gave him huge tax cuts AND allows him to spend the tariff money. The US will have not have enough income to meet its obligations. Congressional Republicans do not care about the deficit at all. The country is bankrupt.

How can Trump be spending the tariff income when it is supposed to offset his massive tax cuts? We are going to have a huge deficit and nothing to pay it.
December 18, 2025 at 1:19 PM
Google AI: "No, current economic analyses from nonpartisan groups like the Tax Foundation and Penn Wharton indicate that the tariffs will not generate enough revenue to offset the cost of the proposed tax cuts. The combination is projected to significantly increase the national deficit."

Okay, Mr. Trump, the time has come for you to resign. Let your Vice President take over. I'm sorry it has come to this. You have lost the ability to run the country. You need to move into seclusion. A caretaker administration will complete your term.

Does mob justice have a good history?

Google AI: "No, mob justice does not have a good history; it has a long and tragic history marked by violence, injustice, human rights violations, and racial terror. Historical accounts show that it consistently undermines the rule of law..."

Gaddafi, Ceaușescu, Najibullah, Doe, de Witt, Mussolini, Petronius Maximus - all famously suffered "street justice" at the hands of angry mobs. Extrajudicial killings like these happen when law and order breaks down. Anarchy is not a thing to be encouraged, and often bites back.

John Pavlovitz has this right. Trump's post is deranged, and anyone who defends it is similarly deranged.

In 192 AD, after a failed poisoning attempt, Roman Emperor Commodus was strangled to death in his bath by a professional wrestler named Narcissus.

In 312 AD, Roman Emperor Maxentius drowned in the Tiber River. His body was recovered and decapitated, and his head was paraded through the streets of Rome.

In the past, measles quarantines outweighed religious freedom, but now we have religious freedom extremists who will violate measles quarantines.

What will happen when "patriots" refuse to quarantine for measles?

It's a myth that if we could just just speak more clearly, our philosophical problems would go away. I believe the opposite is true. The more clearly we speak, the more clearly we see the problems, and more of them, too.

Getting clearer about something often means seeing more problems with it.

The coherence of almost everyone's worldviews depends on a certain looseness of language. When language gets more precise, the conflicts and contradictions become more clear. They problems don't disappear, they come into better focus.

What good will a machine who knows the truth do for people whose political views depend on falsehoods?

Evolution does not guarantee the perfection of any design, or even high quality; only the adequacy of most individual creatures to keep reproducing. Individual body parts can be quite imperfect, even counter-productive, as long as the whole creature keeps going.

When a football player scoring a touchdown points to heaven, are they claiming God acted through them? Are they claiming we just saw God at work, through their body? Not a very humble claim, is it?

I won a Sangean RCR-22 Radio-Alarm Clock at my local auction. It sets itself to the time signal from the atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, about 1700 miles away from me. At first it didn't work, and I had to set the time manually, but overnight it found the signal and has worked perfectly since.

One reason there are many Windows 10 machines that users are reluctant to upgrade to Win 11 is that these are really Windows 7 machines that barely ran Windows 10.
