Solidarity means solidarity.
Or more simply: how many Venezuelan lives are you willing to sacrifice in their name? 1,000? 10,000? 1,000,000?

It's their lives and their choice, not yours.

You want to decide for a people whether or not to some of them will die in their name. If you aren't white, feel free too substitute "Western" savior nonsense, I could not care less. You're just another imperialist who thinks they have a right to plunge a people into war. 19th century mindset.
December 4, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Sorry, I don't subscribe to your white savior nonsense. If you want to declare way and risk the lives of thousands, you need to actually argue in favor of it, not insinuate those opposed are racist for not supporting yet another regime change war in South America

If you can't reply to what's being argued and have to resort to bullshit strawmen like that, I'll take it as an admission of defeat.
December 4, 2025 at 8:36 PM
Yes, choosing that other people will die by your hand in their name is rather nefarious. It's just imperialism with a mask on it. They get to decide that for themselves, not you or me or the PotUS.
December 4, 2025 at 8:29 PM
No, I'm making the argument that you don't get to decide other people need to die to achieve your desired geopolitical outcomes.

There are many ways to enable democracy, war and death and destruction as the aggressor ain't one of them.
December 4, 2025 at 7:57 PM
Doesn't it feel icky to support the deaths of thousands (or more, just ask Iraq) in the name of spreading your views?

I'm unaware of anyone saying we should give up, but you're advocating for making their life significantly worse with no promise of improvement and a track record of the opposite.
December 4, 2025 at 7:22 PM
I think you have it backwards, you need to make an argument about why it's a good idea that will work this time. "Removing an authoritarian leader" is all well and good, but how have any attempts to do that gone in the last ~70 years including wars where we actually invaded, not just launched bombs.
December 4, 2025 at 7:01 PM
I'm sorry, but you've lost me with the peanut butter and pickles combo. My lunch is usually PBJ loaded with whatever chips are handy and easily the worst option I've tried was the pickle lays.

Doing that combo with actual pickles is some Food Wars nonsense.

I worry about what we're teaching them home and in the public sphere, but I'm friends with several teachers/school workers and all their stories from school tell me the kids are fine and every exception comes from a parent who won't accept their kid needs an IEP/is LGBTQ.

I'm not blaming one over the other, it's both, and they're both very well connected politically.

I was on my parents catastrophic plan *just* before the ACA fully kicked in and give myself a 21 yr old student who owed $10,000 to my insurance company and another $3k the next year for various follow up tests. Thankfully I had a good lawyer and other insurance paid it, but fuck me I was stressed.

I had Iowa in mind as well, but I'm a Nebraskan and can only make one link, lol

Shit sucks, makes me glad to be in the city along a major river, not reliant on the aquifer.

Both, but the highest levels in wells tend to be near CAFOs.
December 4, 2025 at 1:05 PM
AG areas have the highest rates of childhood cancer in the country. It's not an issue of normal amounts, it's "acceptable levels" being left in the dust as wells near CAFOs have the level of nitrates skyrocket.

My cousin married a girl who took to farming like no other. She caught the greased pig at the county fair and can butcher a deer. Graceful she is not.

None of these people know what farming is and it kills me how much actual farmers eat it up.

I'm willing to bet every ag heavy state has stories like this, and it never gets the national coverage it should.
Our Dirty Water: Nebraska’s nitrate problem is growing worse. It’s likely harming our kids. - Flatwater Free Press
Nebraska's nitrate level has doubled in the past four decades. Despite this, state and local governments have taken little action to regulate the farming practices that lead to nitrate seeping into ou...

I do wish YT had the age thing, I'm curious how old my music taste is.

I'll have to check out the rappers, it's always been a void in my musical knowledge and I never know where to even start. Kendrick and Bad Bunny just feel basic but I guess they're popular for a reason?

I haven't played that game in 16
years but the moment I saw the thumbnail I had the menu music going in my head.
