It’s easy to see the benefits that better access to nature brings by looking at examples in Scotland and across Scandinavia. Our campaign aims to bring these same opportunities to people in England, giving everyone the chance to explore, connect with, and care for our countryside.

Nearly a million people marched against Brexit. Not front page news.

50 people gather outside a hotel. National news for weeks.

Just received a print of the second picture and wonderful it is too. Reminds me of my grandfather. Now just need to find a frame for it…
Hello! It's no doubt partly due to my spectacularly poor marketing skillz, but sales of prints have been pretty woeful of late. So if you are after a gloomy antidote to all this pesky fine weather and sunshine etc, do have a gander. Reposts also much appreciated. sarahcoomershop.etsy.com

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years as a result of a deliberate strategy. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people.

Good trade.

Smashing walk yesterday on the deserted Naddle Horseshoe above Haweswater.
Good to see plenty of tree planting going on mixed with self seeding.

Wonder if as much effort is going to be put into catching the perpetrators as there was into capturing recently released wildlife…
We have been informed by Police Scotland that a red kite was shot in the Glenbuchat area of Strathdon earlier this month.

The Park Authority condemns the illegal killing of raptors in the strongest possible terms.

Another Birkett ticked off this morning, Knipescar Common in the far east of the district. Heavy showers all around but somehow managed to stay dry.

Hike out to White Hause in the Northern Fells this afternoon. Bright sunshine but a fair old wind blowing and boggy underfoot in places. This seldom visited Birkett is rather tricky to get to!
