Yes, which was a fixed term contract, a contract that that favours employers much more. Such a buy out clause isn't considered unreasonable, because there is a set date when the contract ends.

Also, I doubt any rider with Pedersens negotiation position would agree to a buy out clause like that.
December 12, 2025 at 7:16 PM
I very much doubt that. I am not a lawyer, but I'd be surprised if a court wouldn't rule that as unreasonable for an indefinite contract. Again, these contracts generally favour the employee.

This is the price you pay for keeping a star like him on your team. If Lidl doesn't want to pay that price, there's at least 11 WT teams that happily would, and that's not even counting the WT level Pro-teams.

He scored over 5000 UCI points last year (nearly double what their second rider did and over double what Milan did), podiumed two monuments, won G-W, won two points jerseys and picked up 5 GT stage wins. He is the closest rider to challenging Pog and MvdP on the cobbles.

Lifetime contracts tend to favour the employee, since if there is no reasonable way to leave it is practically indentured servitude. He's still the most important rider in their team, if this olis what it takes to keep him, they'll give it to him.

That too, but too have a shot at all, he will need to have full sprint leadership. And he clearly feels that the green jersey is a major absence on his palmares. And imo it's pretty clear that, too keep both Milan anf Mads, there is an agreement for them to alternate Tours.
December 12, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Because green for Mads + stages for Milan is not feasible. For green Mads needs to maximise his own points in mass sprints, otherwise Philipsen, Kooij and maybe Girmay will create too big a gap in those.
If Mads is fine with stages that don't suit Milan, it could work, but it seems he isn't.

He can just let you ahead at British Nats, so that you are wearing it instead.

Wielerflits claims the same, and they are virtually always correct when it's Visma or Unibet

According to the Average Rob guys he's a surprisingly good swimmer.
He did go swimming with Van Avermaet a month back

Signing 25 climbers, meanwhile the best sprinter on your squad is Ben Turner (or Welsford, but only in Tour Down Under)

I really hate this trend of using fades and paterns instread of solid patches of colours. It can look good isolated, but in a full peloton while watching from the tv, it tends to get muddled.
December 11, 2025 at 3:13 PM
Considering that leaked image of the new bike, I wouldn't blame the team for reconsidering the partnership 😂
December 11, 2025 at 3:07 PM
That'll lead to even more MvdP domination, do we really want that?
December 11, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Can't believe we're missing Remco out of position around place 50 while Pog and MvdP fuck off from the front.
