Right. He makes more effort than any other character besides maybe Cutty. It's the closest anyone gets to rehabilitating themselves while not being completely broken, even if it's not necessarily "enough"

If we're going to consider it from a Joseph Campbell angle beyond the Greek Tragedy aspects of it all, it's anyone who dies, comes back, and sticks around to keep trying. That would make Prez's case almost miraculous.
