R.I.P., Steven Lee Cropper (1941-2025).

Veteran guitarist, songwriter & producer, notably with Stax Records, Brooker T & the MGs, and of course, The Blues Brothers, Steve was one of my foundational guitar influences.

I'm very sad to learn of his passing.

Everything I hear about the rise & proliferation of AI music (such as Sunk et al), the more I feel like we're being robbed of our souls.

The joy of learning, writing & performing music is essentially being gamified for someone else's financial gain.

I keep hearing the media describe the government as "unpopular".

I can't help feeling that's because they seem to be governing by opinion poll, instead of the anti-tory vote which got them elected.

Just imagine if they stopped pandering to Reform. An unpopular gov has nothing to lose... #budget
Imagine if Rachel Reeves pulls out a tax rise... But only for the highest earners and super rich 🤣

I know that's almost certainly not what will happen, but it's what the government *should* do (which is the clearest sign that they won't do it) #tax #budget

"The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant, and so devastating, that civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored, because it cannot survive their being repeated" - Justice Robert Jackson, at the opening of the Nuremberg Trials, 20th November 1945.
It all began 80 years ago: 20 November 1945
The Nuremberg trials were held jointly by the United States, Soviet
Union, France, and the United Kingdom against representatives of the defeated Nazi Germany in the aftermath of World War II.

Since everyone has decided "it's all over for Kier Starmer", the funniest thing he could do is introduce a tax on the ultra wealthy & highest earners.

Even if it speeds up his removal, it's a hell of a hospital pass to his predecessor - they'd struggle to justify its removal to the electorate.

We were sold AI on the basis it was going to cure cancer, solve climate change and advance our lives. Instead all it does is produce social media slop and put ordinary people out of work. I think we're entitled to feel a lot more pissed off than we currently seem to.

Rather sad news in the guitar world as G&L - the company founded by Leo Fender (over a decade after selling the Fender Corp) to continue improving on his original designs - seems to have quietly folded #guitar #news #Fender
Legendary Leo Fender-founded guitar brand G&L reportedly shutting down – with Fender acquiring its intellectual property
Over the past few weeks, reports have surfaced suggesting that G&L – the guitar company Leo Fender co-founded in 1979 – may be in the middle of a quiet but complete shutdown.

It's interesting that we *rightly* view the Louvre Heist as a crime when a physical asset (i.e., a rich person's property) has been taken without consent, but AI art/music based off real artists work is simply 'the future' with no recourse for credit, let alone royalty payments.
