I think the sad reality is that for many, Farage is attractive as a personality. Stirring up outrage; cosying up to autocrats; working the system like a spiv; dodging scrutiny - they love this stuff. It’s reality show politics and the outrage, directed at ‘people not like us’, is exactly the point.

I am post-aghast. This is a still unfolding horror show that, if fiction, would be classed as third rate fantasy. But here we are, in the real world, and I can’t see any redemption heading on any horizon.
