Maltese are absolutely magical! So incredibly sweet and very smart, too. It's one of the few dog breeds I can have with all my allergies, and they're definitely the perfect size for getting carried around.

My old English professor was passionate about having us read aloud and be read to. It was an oral transition, after all! It was absolutely magical, and I vividly remember that class with fondness 30 years (eek!) later.

#HeathrowExpansion will disconnect the internationally-rare chalk streams of the Chilterns from the #Thames. For Eels and other migratory fish to get to #StAlbans, #Hemel, #Chesham, #Amersham etc etc (or back to the Sargasso Sea) this is catastrophic.

I was a lifeguard/swim instructor in Merritt Island, FL and I don't know why we even tried to hold evening swim lessons. The thunderstorm came exactly when we'd need to call and cancel the lessons, and would clear up by the time we got home.
