In the late 60s or early 70s, there was a commercial on TV about a chemist who came up with a fluid that didn't do anything to anything. Then it portrayed a "light bulb" moment which led to a mouse/rat breathing this fluid, like in "The Abyss". Dow, I think.
Anyone recall it? I can't find it.

Today's recommendation: Sushi Kingdom on Woodruff Rd in Greenville, SC. We eat there any time we're in town for a shopping trip. Go for the All You Can Eat lunch. Stay for the Godzilla Roll. It combines the best features of sushi and funnel cakes.

I'm re-writing a scene in a novel, and the Procrastination Force is strong with this one. It's so bad that today I seriously considered updating the woefully inadequate comments on a 23-year-old piece of software that I made available on my website. (It needs work, but... priorities :-/ )

Rob Reiner was one of the truly great creatives in my lifetime. I was reading his book about Spinal Tap when I got the news. I had taken a Stonehenge picture of the book earlier that day, not knowing that it would a memorial instead of an homage.

Yes! the 2026 IRS Pub 15-T has been released. I have updated my spreadsheet that reverse-engineers the relevant (to me) worksheet in Pub 15-T, and the updated version works!
Now a year must pass before I can once again experience this heady excitement.😐

For the last few years, my YouTube commercials this time of year were all about Medicare open enrollment. This year I haven't heard a peep. I wonder what happened. Were the ads all from the low life provider whose CEO got shot? And are they lying low now?

While measuring brown sugar today, I noticed a dis-colored mass and culled it. Washed it off and it looked like a rock. "How did a rock get in there?"
Later, in the name of Science! I licked the rock.
It was sweet. I decided it's probably a solid crystal of sugar that had escaped the crusher.

Today I learned that certain Government clerks doing certain tax paperwork truncate the result instead of rounding to the nearest penny. I had to submit the paperwork a second time so my withholding would be $x60.00 instead of $x59.99.
