Thinking about how YIMBY/Abudance is getting smeared as a conspiracy by Big Tech while remembering the last decade of trying to get *anyone* in FAANG leadership to take runaway bay area housing costs seriously.

Pour one out for the Bluesky SREs this holiday weekend.
Our systems are currently experiencing some degraded performance as a result of record-high traffic. You may notice some slowness in-app as a result. Our team is working to resolve this issue.

most cutting thing you can say is "who's this clown?" because it implies they're a) a clown & b) not even one of the better-known clowns

Can we talk about how triggering it is to see “https://staging.bsky.app/“ clearly being used for production? Hits me right in the old pager hip.

I had the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had in Kyoto last week and it haunts me. Egg yokes the color of tobacco.

One reason this place feels different to me is that I slowly unfollowed all the early super-posters on Twitter, treating my feed as more of a professional resource.

But here, all the old super-posters set up shop early and its all cat pictures and shit posting, just like the old days.

Dearest mutuals,

How are things back home? We hear that the king’s actions grow more vile, and the new aristocracy he has empowered are cruel.

It is a wild but hopeful land here. Many have made the trip over. We still cannot block, which engenders much unpleasantness, but also opportunity.
