Why was this one left behind? Duty? Punishment? Forgotten?

They make it deep to a bunker lair. Abandoned some time ago, vague signs something Bad(tm) happened. Discover a hidden sublevel. WITH A HUMAN. PRESERVED. ALIVE, EVEN! But in a kind of suspended animation not in the protocols. The instructions are corrupted. No way to wake them without killing them.

But then some random off-handed comment at a hybrid poetry slam/town hall meeting/services committee hearing thing sent them down a deep rabbit hole. They went to one of the unmaintained cities following clues about the infamous manifesto author. Standard ruins delve adventure loop... until the end.

They decided they met on a dark New Human chat. Made plans to move to one of the revitalized neighborhoods (pissing off their peers). They integrated well! And we went through about a full hour of building up the neighborhood, describing the groups and meetups and little half-assed local businesses.

3. Scarlet Octagon ("Essee"), MarvelPlus, Thirty Null. Essee, "most human" of them, sub-orbital security drone, LOVES gardening & 22nd Century scream-club music. MarvelPlus, utility repair droid, adores hobby clubs & writing poetry. Thirty Null, biosphere engineer, REALLY into kites & pets.

One of my long-time go-to snarks about "inspired by Ghibli" games is: "Where's the rule for eating rock candy?"
