Democrats need to have disciplined messaging on this clip right here for the next 3 days. We have the memory of goldfish. All hands on deck around this clip of Lutnick and Social Security revealing the greed and cruelty of Trump, Musk, and the GOP.
Trump’s commerce secretary Howard Lutnick says if Social Security skipped a check, his mother-in-law wouldn’t complain—and if you would, it indicates you are probably a fraudster. Insane.

Is there anything more out of touch than a billionaire saying “if they miss social security checks, it’s no big deal!”

I saw a number of people sharing a Guardian piece that suggested Trump had a better grasp of the ground game than Harris. He … didn't. The piece conflated some very different things in a weird way!

Column | The Harris campaign’s ground game was not the problem
A recent assessment of the 2024 presidential contest suggested that Democrats needed to emulate right-wing outreach. But that’s different from turning out voters.

Wow, look at that, a social media that actually moderates it’s content to make sure vile stuff isn’t posted.
1/ We're experiencing a huge influx of users, and with that, a predictable uptick in harmful content posted to the network.

As a result, for some very high-severity policy areas like child safety, we recently made some short-term moderation choices to prioritize recall over precision.

This is the guy Trump is installing as FCC chair.

The point here, IMO, is not that he’s going to go in and start yanking licenses.

But by saying things like this he can intimidate broadcasters into covering the Trump administration more favorably.

I can’t tell you how different it is on X now after so many people have left. I have always followed mostly right-wing accounts because I cover them, and they are running out of people to pick fights with. So they’re just mostly fighting with each other.
