As an introvert who has spent most of their life being chastised and belittled for just being myself I find that society is finally beginning to accept introverts as actual humans and I find that refreshing. Please don't start dunking on us again just because you can.

As an introvert, I detest both small talk and when random strangers talk to me when I’m a captive audience. The earbuds and book are not “props” to look cool and disinterested. Those are clear signals being broadcast, like when a skunk raises its tail near you.

If I'm on a long flight and the person in the next seat is forcing me to be their in-flight entertainment, that's just rude. You are not entitled to monopolize my time just because you bought the seat next to me. That's not being nasty, reactionary, suspicious, or impatient. It's reclaiming my time.
