Excerpt from a short story with zombie-like people looking at their phones in the background. Excerpt reads: Hands grip her wrists, pull her from the softness, the green, back into the ashen grey corridors, the lurid lights, the screens. She thrashes her arms but she’s like a child in the practiced grip of the orderlies. Her energy fizzles out like a sparkler plunged into water and she hangs limp. They drag her back to her room and drape her across the bed. She lies numb as cold hands peel her gown away, reveal bony legs like stripped back wintry branches. The lock clicks as the orderlies file out. Silence.
