clarify that I heard right: Rom novs on the whole really do depict realistic, unexaggerated, healthy men? They don't create a porn-equivalent exaggeration?

men object to it is they don't like that it's from a woman's perspective. I have to admit, I'm skeptical of that, because of small bits that I have read, or just the cover art and such. ...but I also have to admit I haven't read a whole romance novel or anything. I guess my question here is just to

2. Anecdotally, I've understood the main parallel issue between rom novs and porn to be that they both create unrealistic expectations of what real sex is like. It sounded like you see the way sex is depicted in novels as actually being healthy (outside dark romance of course), and the real reason

1. This is named as the core problem with porn. I'm sure we'd agree that animation, video games, etc. are ALSO an issue, but by this measure they wouldn't be because there aren't real people. What's your take on that wider perspective, and how does that affect the rest of the convo, if at all?

This episode was super interesting. Growing up in purity culture, it's really difficult to know how to dial back the "aroused = sinning" take—especially as a parent!—and this was helpful in that zone.
There were a couple things not covered here (or in the YT follow-up) that I wondered about:

Woah. I've definitely never heard this take before. Makes the statement "[she] has put in more than all the others." take on a whole different connotation. Like, I always mentally inserted "...and that's good!" but... well, he doesn't actually *say* that... 😳🤔
