TV writer, AFF winner (2022)

Repped at AAO Entertainment

Introducing myself:

I write genre-infused drama, mostly for TV, inhabited by complicated characters who exist in moral grey areas and wrestle with the subjectivity of truth.

My pilot won AFF in 2022. Since then I found a rep and had reads / meetings at top networks.

I’ve been mulling over a Severance spec idea, and the most recent episode just lined up perfectly for it to actually make sense.

(The last thing I need to write right now is a spec btw)

Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

What is it with Dan Fogelman and writing pilots that make me want to immediately watch from the beginning as soon as the episode ends?! #Paradise

Really enjoyed this blog post by Colby Day. Appreciate the peek behind the curtain.
Want to know what 2024 was like? A constant grind to try to get the next thing, despite already having plenty of things. This is my year in review as a working screenwriter! A life in the arts is not for the faint of heart. hollyweird.colbyday.com/p/my-2024-as...

Watching Fox’s MURDER IN A SMALL TOWN, which I’m enjoying and hoping for a season 2, but oh man do I cringe when Northwest-based shows can’t pronounce local names right.

So if you’re looking, I’m available to be your PNW consultant 😉

Also, writing small town/ PNW mysteries is kind of my thing.

Just finished Speak No Evil and holy smokes, that was a tense slow burn. James McAvoy does menacing like no other.

It’s been a little bit of a rough week…for various reasons.

But I’m feeling thankful for my writing circle and having people I can reach out to when needed.

Also, ended today with a little zap of encouragement that I needed.

We need to bring back the anthology-style YA horror like Are You Afraid of the Dark and Goosebumps. I love serialized stories as much as anyone, but there’s something about one off stories and I think there’s a market for it. (My kids. My kids are the market)

This 🧵 is worth your time. I know I needed to hear (read) it.
In honor of being here on Bluesky, I am unretiring THE CUBAN MISSILE’S WRITING ADVICE MEGATHREAD. I do this knowing earnestness is cringe-worthy and Pollyanna-ish optimism about the profession of writing is not often appreciated. That’s why it’s time to talk about failure and how to deal with it. 1/
