I presented to Auckland Councils Transport, Infrastructure, and Resilience Committee last week about AT's last minute Project K changes. Felt like a pretty positive reception.

Putting aside the abject failure to uphold agreed plans (no small feat by AT!) The secrecy in of this is really corrosive to public engagement. It's a betrayal of trust - projects decided by a few figures agitating behind closed doors, plus a meek authority. The lack of transparency is remarkable.

We are spending $5.5 billion on a transformational rail project, only for Auckland Transport to bring back cars and traffic right outside stations, by last minute redesigning a well supported project.

Something needs to change.
