I continue to be pissed at the rhetoric that modern society is too "convenient", but what do I expect from a society that thinks abuse victims cowed into "learned helplessness" are automatically abusers themselves via "weaponised incompetence".

I'll die on this hill, but if we treat immigrants with respect and have an orderly process for them to follow, if ultimately they are asked to leave I'm certain the vast majority will of their own accord. They just want access to a fair process.

Politicians talking about stripping a naturalised citizen of their citizenship for doing a crime occasionally happens and I think this is fucked. Either you don't think citizenship can truly be granted, or you secretly want to make native-born criminals stateless.

Since I became a resident of the subtropics, Middle Eastern cities with their palm trees look like home and it's even more sad when they're on the news because they're getting bombed.

I remember meeting a couple of token Desi Catholic, and therefore first Indians I had ever met, in year 11. It was awkward but ultimately positive.
I knew I was an atheist by then. The way I reduced them to model minorities was by assuming they were smart.

If "hard-working, religious, family-oriented" is the type of immigrant you want *more* of, you're either describing a pleasant type of guy with horrible trad language, or your values are cooked and the fash will crack it wide open.
