My main problem is that that kind of subclass would betray what makes DH work the way it does. There's no real codices or indexes to root into to figure things out. Its all on the cards. And so, having a card overwrite so much of a character sheet feels like an overextension.

That is a possibility. But I also love the Druid class' connection to the Sage domain. While it could be read as being plant magic, I love that Sage acts as a lense through with the natural world is translated to a wielder. This leads me to thinking, maybe a class of its own

Its a fun puzzle, isn't it? My current feelings are conflicted when it comes to translating it to Daggerheart. A subclass could be interesting, but does a player want a Druid that goes "Yo fuck Beastform, spend a stress to do this instead" and fill the card with text when DH is for less crunchiness?

Right?! And like, don't get me wrong, its a vibe™, but it has me asking questions. Like: how would a class work when your core believes are based solely in oral tradition? Can power be drawn from the land, earthworks, henges, and maenhir?
