We have a consultation problem. I write about a Toronto rec centre that will have taken 14 years to plan, cost at least three times the original budget - and be a bad building.

What is the cost of consultation?
Toronto recreation centre that started as $40-million project in 2016 has ballooned to nearly $113-million before construction even starts

In regards to urbanism, the only thing I have really changed my mind on is malls. I really like malls and so long as they are well-integrated into the urban environment, they can greatly improve a walkable area

I will consider taking Not Just Bikes seriously again when he formally retracts his the part of his first Toronto video where he suggests the Yonge subway is car infrastructure

For all of VIVA’s flaws (and there’s a lot of them) I do really like these screens showing connections at each stop

Winter driving in Canada would be so much safer if people realized that all-wheel drive isn’t a silver bullet against bad weather and slowed down 💀

The City is updating zoning to allow more housing near 120 transit stations across Toronto. Learn about the changes, ask questions and share feedback at six public engagement sessions (virtual and in person) from Jan 21 to Feb 12.

“Minister of snake oil says they’re not going to punish people who sell fake medicine”
The concept of posting “Canada is not considering a ban of X” as a QUOTE of your post condemning deepfake sexual abuse happening **ON X** of women and kids………….

I hope we can all understand that “Transit City was a horribly flawed plan” and “subways, subways, subways everywhere isn’t a realistic solution” can both be true at the same time.

One thing I really appreciate on the TTC is that I have never seen an ad that covers the windows. It’s nice actually being able to see out the windows

i truly, deeply loathe about Toronto politics is how shamelessly politicians twist vulgar-leftist events/language into policies helping millionaire homeowners
Kandavel closes his speech by referencing last night's NYC election.

"Zohran Mamdani ran and won NOT on a YIMBY platform, but on complexity and affordability ... it was addressing the needs of all the five boroughs."

"We are risking suburban alienation with this," he says of sixplexes.
