Imo, the syntax is more intuitive and concise, especially if you're familiar with Python. So, it's perfect for beginners, but sometimes resource use is not as efficient as nf. From my experience,Snakemake is commonly used here in Europe and nf more popularly used in N.America, not sure why though

Nextflow was such a revelation, replacing fragile clunky bash scripts with a robust system that could be relied on. The first round had some downsides (no modularity being my biggest issue) but DSL2 seems to have addressed most of those!

Yesss, exactly. Modularity was a major reason I settled for snakemake in the end, but with DSL2 now, that's also sorted in nf. I hope more bioinformaticians embrace these systems. Reproduciibilty becomes a lot easier
