Southern Oregon. Proud dad of an autistic teen and husband of a stellar metalsmith. “We the People” means everyone. (he/him)
I try to address it from the standpoint of this: If we reduce car dependence and more people use other modes, it can make life much easier for those who legitimately do and always will rely on automobiles. Not only people with disabilities. My brother is a contractor. He will always need to drive.

I think it's appropriate. Kirk said the Civil Rights Act was a mistake and ITD routinely ignores the civil rights of people with their failure to comply with basic ADA requirements. It's a match made in Emmett! (Add to that, it’s a dead end road—also appropriate.)

Let’s not cover this as a legitimate movement toward the truth until the results come out. There’s no reason to trust Trump’s DOJ since they have no track record of being honest and releasing factual information.

This is too weird to trust. What does the GOP know about Trump’s DOJ scrubbing them? I hope the victims’ supporter have other files and data on the ready to release to know if the files are manipulated.

Sadly, yes.

North Carolina’s GOP passed a law in the early 2010s that prohibited NCDOT from doing standalone bike/ped projects. NCDOT manages a higher percentage of the state’s roads than any other state DOT.

Why a 10-Year-Old Law Blocks Bike Lanes From Getting Off the Ground
North Carolina's local governments and bike advocates want to change a law that keeps the state from funding many bike lanes and sidewalks.

Most engineers, especially traffic engineers, aren’t safety experts either. Engineers shouldn’t be project managers on transportation projects. Their role should be to make the preferred design technically accurate. But they shouldn’t dictate the components.

Maybe the one good thing about DOGE is Elon backed up all those files on his own server.

I would much rather the government subsidize the training for skilled workers like this than subsidize the fossil fuels and highway building industries. We’ve done that for decades but balk at useful subsidies.
