It *is* possible to fight state DOTs to get livable state routes through your town. We don’t allow plumbers to dictate the design our homes, so we shouldn’t allow highway agencies to dictate the design of our cities.

We are safe. We found shelter in #WarRavagedPortland.

Greetings from #WarRavagedPortland.

People are desperate, lining up for rations...oh…wait, the gates aren't yet open for the Stevie Nicks show.

Let’s see what happens with these in front of the Okeechobee, FL police station. Or with the crosswalk in front of the Walpole, MA, police dept.
August 27, 2025 at 3:24 PM
Walpole, Mass, has a Thin Blue Line crosswalk. Given FDOT says the directive is coming from USDOT, will the feds also force Walpole to remove it?
August 26, 2025 at 2:03 PM
Will FDOT make Okeechobee remove their Thin Blue Line road striping, too?
August 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM
The Okeechobee, FL Police Department has a thin blue line stripe on the public street in front of its HQ. This should also be removed if USDOT is so serious about street paint that isn’t allowed the federal MUTCD.

Walpole, Massachusetts, has a thin blue line crosswalk at its police station. If this act to remove the rainbow crosswalk is truly about safety, then this one in Walpole should also be removed. Right? @massdot.bsky.social
August 23, 2025 at 3:06 AM
If it was truly about safety they would demand these thin blue line crosswalks and road striping also be removed. But we know the removal of rainbow crosswalks has nothing to do with safety.

If they truly thought it was a safety issue, they would also demand removal of these thin blue line crosswalks and road striping. But we know the removal of the rainbow crosswalk has nothing to do with safety.

When Idaho gains a third seat, the GOP will split Ada Co/Boise into thirds, just as Utah did with splitting SLC/County into multiple districts to ensure no chance for. Democrat to win that seat.

Last year I took pics of several booths because I knew this day was likely coming. And I also knew there companies would remain silent as the Idaho Legislature took away rights from people.

So, they learned nothing from the traffic that just disappeared when the viaduct was closed before the tunnel opened?

The Walmart in Juneau, Alaska, was a huge waste of land that could have been housing. It’s not as if Juneau can just sprawl into the hinterlands. It’s incredibly constrained due to mountains and sea. The Walmart has been closed for several years and the site still isn’t the housing it could be.

This one isn’t visible from the road because it’s up a notable grade. That’s why there’s the squiggly path and the stairs. It’s hard to find flat ground to develop big boxes in Asheville. Even more of a reason that it doesn’t have to be set so far back.
