And the reason Nu Trek isn’t very good in my opinion is that modern writers just don’t understand the appeal of Star Trek. Old Trek was always heavier on the Enlightenment side of Enlightenment vs. Romanticism and Nu Trek is the opposite

Agreed but an equal amount of blame can be laid on Disney. It’s truly staggering how little they care about Star Wars, they count entirely on brand recognition for sales ie; “oh, this product has Star Wars in it’s name, so we don’t have to bother trying, people will give us their money regardless”
