These guys are still people and people want to feel needed. If you want someone to stay, this isn't how you show that. Who else were the Mets so busy meeting with that they couldn't fit Alonso into their schedule?

The Mets clearly didn't want to sign him. They didn't schedule a meeting, they didn't make an offer. If I'm Pete, I'm taking the Baltimore deal too.
