In my case, this painstaking labor in the process through which the science gets done. Science isn't measuring stuff in a lab. It's thinking deeply, extracting the heart of idea from the soup of thoughts running through my mind, molding it, and finding a way to communicate that idea to others.

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

Even ignoring the obvious AI slop figure, the paper is essentially applying an existing model to 1 (one) tiny open dataset. Taking it at face value, it reads like an undergrad take-home assignment that would get an F

Some things to add to this great blog post:
As someone who wears glasses, a baseball hat under the helmet keeps most of the water off them.
I really like my super reflective proviz jacket. In the dark you become the most visible person on the road. (Recommend sizing up if you get one)

Last night's fatal crash in north Ballard means that at least sixteen people walking have been killed in 2025 after being hit by drivers in Seattle.
Seattle Fire just responded to a driver hitting someone walking at 15th Ave NW and NW 73rd Street, 30 minutes ago.

This was a hit-and-run.

I'll provide updates on the person who was hit as they become available.

A common excuse we hear for SDOT's refusal to install bus lanes on Denny is that WSDOT could be opposing them. However, @juliareedwa.bsky.social checked, and WSDOT is “unconcerned” about potential impacts to I-5 traffic. The state’s ready to talk bus lanes on Denny, lets get them built!
