Act justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly.
It has a PG rating. Her personal "parental guidance" was to walk out. The rating worked.
The only thing I've ever made my kids stand up and walk out of was a Greg Laurie sermon. The conviction in my gut that day was strong too.

Aisles Abroad: Dutch grocer Jumbo embraces a slower checkout option
The supermarket chain’s “chat checkout” lanes, which have recently expanded to more than 100 stores, may resonate in U.S. grocery stores as retailers look to reach an aging population.

Back in 1928, my grandparents "had" to get married. But before they could, my grandmother had to confess and apologize before the church elders and pastor.
My grandfather did not.

Just finished The Giver with the 8th graders. Maybe 25% of the students followed along in the book while listening to the audiobook. The rest goofed around or put their head down.
One exciting outcome... those that followed along went to the library and checked out the next book in the series!! 🎉

I always wondered...
Why are none of those grown men holding that dear child's hand? Not one reached out in humanity to give her an extra ounce of peace?

Utterly embarrassing that this is posted on an account connected to the federal government. I don't even let my eighth grade students talk to each other like this.
Social media has eliminated common decency.
Apparently no one needs to speak respectfully anymore. We can all act like 13 year olds.

As a teacher, the only thing I read was, don't put too much effort in parent updates, because they only want to know how they are doing in math. Unless of course their child gets called into the principal's office. Then they will want to know why I didn't say anything about their behavior.
