I personally love Pete, but I just don’t see it. Black America quietly has a long way to go on LGBTQ issues, especially in the south.
I’d keep an eye on Newsom. But know that Kamala, Clyburn, and perhaps even Joe have the opportunity to play king maker in this space, if they weigh in at all.

I personally love Pete, but I just don’t see it. Black America quietly has a long way to go on LGBTQ issues, especially in the south.

Yes. Southern US state colleges have somewhat conservative alums and fan bases (even with educational polarization), and Texas A&M is *pretty* up there, along with schools like Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU, etc.
Fan message boards like this skew even more conservative. Probably R+35 if we had data.
