Your best Soderberghian girl. I'll be the girl with acne, holding more acne.
Criterion box set, it’s the least they can do for the amount of free advertising they got from that show.

The crazy thing is Matt keeps saying they shot season 3 and it’s just been stuck in Viceland purgatory.

I know what a TERF would think this sketch is doing, but in plain fact it is the most accurate and sympathetic portrayal of gender dysphoria I’ve seen, from 35 years ago or now.

I don’t know if this specifically is fake but reports of his standup say that it’s very much his feelings on the subject.

He had to make sure people weren’t completely thrown when they went to Killer Joe after Lady Bird.

Gosling played a comedic part dramatically and she played a dramatic part comedically, a less obviously bravura feat but a trickier and stickier one.

The haters aren’t right because they’re using this (flawed, kind of nonfunctional movie) as a cudgel against the perfect masterpiece Tricia and Ethan already made.

It came and went pretty quickly but I wouldn’t be surprised if this new one doesn’t last a second weekend.

You gotta watch her in the Tricia/Ethan movies, though the one currently out is kind of trial-by-fire.

I personally believe they should be called “bloopers and goofers”.

The word blooper comes from the early days of radio, from around 1926. Used in baseball by 1940, it meant "hit a ball in a high arc over the head of a fielder". It has been used as a noun from 1931.[1]

The only one I can think of is entirely for reasons outside the song, the Eurodance song over the end credits of Uncut Gems.

Rogue and Wilderness are very good pulp, Wilderness in particular is invigoratingly nasty. Real excited for her Red Sonja, a shame I can't swing the one night it's playing in theaters.

I would love for "DTV Inside Man sequel directed by an awesome trans woman" to be good, but instead it's leftovers with a funny commitment to tying itself in knots to be a direct follow-up.

Any time she can carve out to act is as important to me as what she's directing. I can assume you wouldn't like White Noise (though it is *very* Barbie, just in an "egghead academic losing his mind" way) but her Babette is extraordinary stuff.

😭 I get it, most of his non-Gerwig scripts are varying degrees of unpalatable, but I owe loving her to loving him and his gradually softening spitefulness. And if I *have* to pick one of them as a director, it's still him.

I’ve had idle, not very convincing questions about whether I was a little too mean towards Blonde, this is a resounding affirmation of the opposite.
