The Visible Filth was adapted into a film in 2019 with a title change to Wounds. It was a direct release to Hulu in the US and Netflix for overseas territories.

The novella follows a New Orleans bartender, named Will, who finds a cellphone in the bar he works after a fight. He tries to locate the owner of the phone when he starts receiving disturbing messages from the owner, which leads him into a abyssal pit of hell.
