If you spend enough time in the lab, someday you'll see something no one has ever seen before-- Manooch Kootchesfahani

I've had about 5 of these.

My dean nominated my wife for USU Veteran of the Year, and I'm attending the lunch in honor of her and others today. She usually hates this stuff, but for once, it's an award she didn't apply for and she's really proud. I'm proud of her. Happy Veteran's Day.

The rest of Newton looks a bit less idyllic.

Had occasion go be in the REALLY tiny town of Newton, UT today and spied the nicest little ball field I've seen around here, right at Center and Main, as it should be.

I was very fortunate back in 2018 that a mutual friend introduced me to Ron Jeffries, who gave me a tour of Jolly Pumpkin in Dexter, MI. Very sadly, Ron passed away last year. We lost a true original. Raise a glass to Ron and to Michigan beer, best in the USA IMHO.

This was 6 years ago, thinking about spinning the ball around a seam. not the right part of the seam, as it turned out, but still.

This is my fav from these guys so far. I commented that I was happy they brought it back. They explained that they had to make old beers because new labels have to be approved by the feds, who are closed.

This got me thinking that it's too bad that high school pitchers don't have a switch like this so they can ignore bad coaching advice while remaining "coachable."

I'm a professor of engineering, currently teaching two classes. Sometimes, I use Youtube in class. I got burned this semester by a boner-pill ad popping up during a video on cross correlation. Lately, the side-bar ads often have an irrelevant, provocative image. OK, I won't use Youtube. Nice.
