Rewatched Army of Darkness last night. Raimi’s breathlessly manic kineticism should be exhausting even at 80m but man… the slapstick gags, cartoon mugging, stop-motion action craft and willingness to just move on from/blow up anything on screen on a dime. What a filmmaker.

And most recently kicking off Spooktober by talking to @mikethorn.bsky.social about the first Stephen King books he ever read... Including the deranged Dreamcatcher: a serious $68m Hollywood adaptation of King having a painkiller-induced fever dream.
