Another formulation of this, that I used to tell my postgrads when I was teaching: 'If you leave it until the last minute, then it will only take take a minute.'

Metaverse didn't go away tho? The fruits of all that money are arriving now. Consumer AR + VR hardware + spatial computing, huge demographic shift in how the internet even gets used (despite everything, Robox is crushing it). Enterprise/industrial use cases quietly moving forward at some speed.

Even if this was true (it's not, they walked it back). The US gov guaranteeing future financing for OpenAI is consistent with wider moves in the US economy. The move toward authoritarian state capitalism.

LOOK! in the wild! people actually speak like this IRL. it's got nothing to do with AI imo.
October 20, 2025 at 6:57 PM
I too when someone asks me what I think about AI say something like "navigation of a latent space is akin to interpolating points on a pre-existing manifold embedded in a space."

but when I click on the edit pencil I see the updated title
October 16, 2025 at 8:53 AM
In fact! Now that post is actually published, i'm getting the old post title in the editor again.
October 16, 2025 at 8:53 AM
@leaflet.pub BUG REPORT: If you write a post, click publish, realise the title is wrong, use the back button, and change the title

You will see the title change reflected in the editor, in the main drafts page but not in the publish preview, or the embed that goes out when you actually hit publish.

When you see statistics like this, everything about the way society (let alone LLMs) functions makes so much more sense.
