Do we have evidence that the unemployment rate is a key factor in elections? The low rate didn’t seem to help Biden or Harris in 2024. Inflation and interest rates directly impact more people and are perhaps more salient.

No Trump fan here, but that graph suggests that growth in manufacturing jobs lost all momentum during 2023 under Biden.

C’mon, Tom. By 2016, HRC had been Secretary of State and Senator (in addition to FLOTUS). She was eminently qualified in all aspects except, alas, the one that matters most—popularity.

If the blue wave is big enough, Crockett could win. The Senate could surely use an injection of personality and reform. She’s also young enough to grow.

Shoot* the messenger if you must, but the message (small vehicles for city living) is appropriate. Downsizing the USA vehicle fleet would be a welcome development. Not holding my breath.

There’s surely a sizable (if silent) majority of the USA that would approve of congressional legislation to better organize and regulate the nation’s immigration processes…The summer of ‘24 proposal would have been a good start, but Trump sabotaged it.
