The alternate #birdoftheday theme is #black birds. As a professional wildlife biologist who has worked on icterid blackbirds for 30-odd years, that would be too easy. So instead, one of a gang of crows we befriended in Port Alberni this year.

For those saying it doesn't matter because a new oil pipeline is impossible, just stop. It's possible.

It's not a choice between Gripens & F35s. It's a choice between having fighter capacity or not. If govt doesn't proceed to replace obsolete F18s NOW, ALL the pilots leave for lucrative jobs in the airlines. We can't build Gripens here before the F18s are retired. Source? An F18 pilot. My son.
