watched the new John Candy doc, & I highly recommend it. Candy's films were an integral part of my childhood, & they still bring me joy. Moreover, he appears to have been a genuinely decent person, a rare thing in the entertainment industry. I still miss John Candy.

I love seeing matte paintings in old films. My favourite appears at the end of "Gremlins" (1984). It's just a wonderful lost art form.

Happy Back to the Future day! Today we honour Marty McFly's Delorean-fueled time journey in "Back to the Future: Part 2," when he travelled from 1985 to October 21, 2015! To say that our current time is a disappointment compared to the future depicted in the film is the ultimate understatement.

Today, I got my daughter her first baseball glove, and I got my first new glove since I last played back in highschool. We went to the park and played catch for an hour. She's got a great natural throwing motion, and picked up basket-style catches quickly. I felt great to play baseball again!

RIP to Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, a former tenured professor of anthropology at Idaho State University & one of the view credentialed academics who looked into the Bigfoot mystery with an air of hope & scientific rigour. He'll be missed by all of us who've had a lifelong interest in the sasquatch myth.
