Behold, Marley’s toe beans
A very close up photo of the toe beans from one of my cat Marley’s back paws. He’s laying on his side putting the large bottom bean left in the photo and the smaller top four beans on the right. i will always have to have a tortoiseshell cat thanks to mj here
my cat mj. the travel carrier for my cats has two zippered sides. i always leave the sides open and the carrier out for them to use so they don't associate it with going to the vet. i have it sitting on a cabinet with the largest open side facing a window. on this morning mj is sitting up inside close to the window. the morning sun is just starting to shine in the window and carrier, hitting mj's lower left half. she's a tortoiseshell and her coloring really stands out. she's looking towards the camera with her pupils small slivers in the bright light.

it was a good idea putting this cat house on my desk
My tortoiseshell cat MJ sleeping inside a padded square cat house. Her head is slightly upright with the side of her head resting against the cat house door. Her back left paw is pointed forward and resting on the bottom of the cat house door. The nails on her paw are partially exposed. Her left front paw is draped over the back one. The top of the cat house door has a mouse hanging from a string. The mouse is resting on MJ’s head as she sleeps.

interestingly, if you have a timer running its transparent background is much darker with a color that looks to be based off a dark part of the wallpaper color. i think that looks way better

the transparent iphone notifications for the lock screen are... something. its okay with the darker wallpaper but with a lighter, busier one it falls off quick

i dont really use safari so im not sure what is different about it. although the color changing safari window based on the website youre visiting seems new? it is really jarring to have that nfl blue slammed into your eyeballs like that

apple watch notifications are also bad. the distorted watch face showing through is very distracting and draws my eyes to it instead of whatever the notification is saying

My cat Marley is sitting upright on the corner of my wood TV stand. He’s all black with the small patches of white on his neck and front armpits visible (he’s also got a small white patch on his belly that isn’t showing). He’s looking forward and slightly down with his ears pointing straight up.

i appreciate that they moved these out of the center of the screen but it feels weird that theyre in different places & that the brightness one has zero space between it & the edge of the screen. with firefox open, i initially thought they removed the indicators because i didnt notice them pop up

theres an accessibility setting to reduce transparency but they clearly didnt give it much thought or testing. it darkens some of the transparent floating backgrounds but theres zero padding between the top of the floating element and whatever buttons are inside so it looks weird

if you switch apps and come back with the search bar open it bugs out. the dark mode look of the search bar and keyboard now have the look of light mode. oddly enough it makes it easier to read but its a bad look when your phone is using dark mode and thats what youre use to seeing everywhere
like the previous post, this is the same screenshot from the app store where i have the search bar open. however, this time instead of having my iphones dark mode setting set the keyboard and search bar to have a darker transparent background, its using the light mode light background

like theres no way this is good design. i opened the iphone app store to search for an app and the transparent floating search bar is so hard to see. and when you click it a keyboard pops up but is the search bar active? oh wait theres the blinking cursor you can barely see

another example of why transparent floating buttons are bad. the iphone music app screenshot opened in iphone photos. the transparent floating buttons of the photos app are impossible to read with the transparent floating buttons on the screenshot showing through them

like this is the apple music app. transparent floating sidebar with a transparent footer on top of it (the padding between the sidebar & the edge drives me crazy). player controls, on top since the itunes days, now at the bottom, transparently floating & hard to read. not great on iphone either

She’s got one of her front legs & paw curled, the other front leg outstretched with the paw and claws extended My black cat Marley sitting next to me on the couch. There’s only a sliver of me showing outside of my outstretched left arm. I want an LLM for my email. "Write a short email to David telling him I'm looking forward to seeing him on Saturday, and ask him what the dress code is. Show it to me for approval before sending." Much easier than writing it myself. Does this exist yet?
