Asked a friend for advice and alu-foil and WD40 helped getting it a little more silvery again. I went at it a few times, so I guess that's all I can achieve right now.

Also, trimming with only ruler and cutter knife is prone to give you some very not straight edges. But at least they're smoother than non-trimmed.

There's some things that make me want to do a second one but better. But after having finished this one, I also can't be bothered to go through the process again. 😅 And it's still cute and functional. I'll just keep using it and make notes of what could be improved.
