Just hope for ignorance. All he's got to talk to is Kim, who certainly enjoyed his time here

You should, but you can still dream until the actually are linked. For here, gets easiest path to a ring and reunited with his teammate. Who wouldnt pick that over coming here

It's just as plausible as your logic of him turning down the Padres gig which what? He turns down the Angels gig, then turns down the Padres gig, doesnt even try for the Orioles opening, just to go back to the Angels to continue working as an advisor? That makes more sense than him bombing?

20 years as a player means nothing. Gwynn had 20 years and it's widly known he was a terrible coach. Ted Williams had 20 years and was one of the worst managers in history. And yes saying "I dont know" is better than BSing and still getting it wrong. Interviews aren't just testing your knowledge
November 26, 2025 at 10:43 PM
You're the one who brought him up being an asshole. Which he probably is. But bullshiting your way through an interview doesn't automatically make you an asshole. If they ask situational questions with a clear answers they expect to hear they'll know instantly if he's bullshitting & cost him the gig

You mean the guy baiting a drug addict to take 98mph fastballs off the leg for momey and cheating on, then leaving, his wife who has cancer?
November 26, 2025 at 10:12 PM
Oh dont get me wrong. Stammen will probably end up being worse than Tingler. But I also felt Puljos was going to be a terrible pick also. Im just offering a reasonable possibility for "puljos bombed the interview"
November 26, 2025 at 10:08 PM
It's an amazing trait but it's what he does do. Remeber he gave Adrian Gonzalez an interview in 2023 for no other reason than to pick his brain.
November 26, 2025 at 10:00 PM
There's a massive difference between acting like you know what you're doing and completely bullshitting. It's also completely fine to admit you dont know and answer. Which is what i'm suggesting was possible the difference between Stammen and Puljos.
November 26, 2025 at 9:57 PM
Maybe it's that Puljos did the opposite? Like Stammen was open about what he doesnt know and talked of ways he'd learn/figure it out. But Puljos came in acting like he knew everything because he's a future HoFer.
November 26, 2025 at 9:48 PM
Probably. Puljos I think only turns down this job over money. And since AJ had Stammen work on the first round then pushed him to apply after that, it seems to me AJ already had his mind set on Stammen and didnt like anyone else.
November 26, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Sure it could be a talking point and thats a fair way to look at it. It's also fair that Puljos bombed it early and Preller wasted his time to gather any and all information because thats what AJ does.
November 26, 2025 at 9:31 PM
There was someone, woods or Darren, said they were told by someone in the team that the 9 hour Puljos interview didn't go well. Like Puljos completely bombed it
November 26, 2025 at 9:21 PM
I don't know. He quit on the team at their highest point. We're still here even after all the bad
