Now, with all the changes made with MTG design, this sound less reasonable. the tradition established by the original Elder Dragon Highlander rules get removed, so now I should have rep from all 5 colors "just because" by playing hybrid?

So within that restriction, you have to use your means to achieve victory
If you're mono blue, you have access to Blue Elemental Blast, and with Red, you can use Red Elemental Blast. But (for the sake of the concept) Red tries to use Manamorphose, and doesn't have a green mana affinity. 2/
