Lamenting about TikTok when we know shenanigans is afoot won't do much sadly. Does there need to be regulation around the social platforms yes, but they're not going to take the correct steps to do anything about it. It's all posturing.

If they were truly committed to protecting people's data they would look at all the platforms, because if anything Twitter was weaponized, but nothing and it's scrapping for AI. All eyes were on TikTok.

If they truly wanted to do something they would educate themselves on the Hill, but they don't and don't consult their internal peers. They could look into it, but made summary judgements about it instead of really pulling things apart to do deeper dives.

This all seems like efforts done to limit information across global audiences so that people are kept in the dark and uninformed on a variety of things.
It was crazy how quickly tiktok was targeted by Congress even though there were plenty of other issues to be addressed and voted on.
