My dad is into genealogy. Apparently, our family originates from Alsace, France, where we had an ancestor named Jacques Bloch.

Every time someone accuses them of, for example, taking out Jamaal Bowman, they are helping AIPAC write an ad to take to its donors.

The story AIPAC doesn't want told is that Bowman was likely going down anyway, which is why AIPAC targeted him and not someone actually popular in their district.

And hey, you know who's really invested in making AIPAC seem really powerful, capable of making or breaking politicians at will?

AIPAC, of course.

That's how these lobbying groups make money. They have to convince people that they have power and connections. That's how they hook big donors.

Sorry, can you give an explanation for those of us who aren't great at Hebrew?

Why should I believe you? What are you actually doing to fight? How are you going to punish the members of your party who broke ranks?

I'm your constituent and I don't believe you. What are you going to do to punish the Dems who voted Yes?

Jewish individuals can believe whatever, but these are specific things literally every Jewish denomination agrees on.

113. Bullying is incredibly destructive for kids. Saying "some people should have been bullied more" just comes off really badly for someone who was actually bullied.

Happened to me a few times in public school. Not by choice.

The way I usually put it is that in Judaism, what exactly happens in the afterlife is a question for mystics to ponder, not laypeople to worry about. It's not that teachings about Gehenna and HaOlam HaBa are inaccessible by any means, but so are Christian teachings about angelology.
