How do people stay awake when it gets dark at 5pm

-It must have been days since he attempted to escape. They found him later the same night surrounded by scared Sisters. He does not remember much of it. They left him awake this time. Something about not having him wake up angry again.-

-He is falling then picking himself up while clinging to the walls. He can hear the sound of voices behind him and the sound of music above him. Is he running for his life and there is some sort of party? How could they celebrate? Disgusting.-

"Shut him up!"

"I can't!"

-He's screaming. The pain. He feels so cold and so very hungry. It tears at his insides like he, himself, is being eaten alive. He does not even see what he flails at but they are trying to hold him down. Hands and arms then bodies on top of him. Blood fills his mouth.- +

-The voices keep speaking but fade like they are moving farther away. A dim light seems to seep through his eyelids but he cannot open them. Not yet, he thinks. Then it is dark again. It is quiet and he is cold.-

- Sound. Voices. -

"He is stable now. There should be nothing else to worry about."

"If you say so."

"It's miraculous that we've achieved this much, I don't want to invite a poor mindset now."

"I'm only being cautious."

"I know. We'll keep a close eye on him."
