I dared to go for an evening walk in the park, in the cold and dark.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. 🖤

Clear days bring the mountains down
to my doorstep,
Calm nights give the rivers their say,
The wind puts its hand to my shoulder
some evenings,
And then I don't think,
I just leave what I'm doing,
And I go the soul's way.

My Quest Is

to feel the beauty of the night before it's dawn

to treasure warmth before it turns to frost

appreciate what's in front of me before it's gone

and love the things I have before they're lost

“The relation between what we see and what we know is never settled. Each evening we see the sun set. We know that the earth is turning away from it. Yet the knowledge, the explanation, never quite fits the sight.”

A salt-hush as the wind arranges everything. It combs the rolling waves, it stacks the clouds in pewter slabs and rakes the light that fractures through. Out on the gloom-line blades carve slow, patient circles in the fluid air - the only constant in this shifting, restless, shushing hour.

moments,
wishing that I
didn’t crave them,
that vulnerability-

moments I didn’t
have for so
long
moments I didn’t
know I needed,
now gone
