…. David however enjoyed it more than I did and gave it a solid 4 whereas Leslie decided to be maverick once the decimal floodgates opened and gave it 3.8 given our combined average score therefore of 3.8

Overall rating: There is nothing fundamentally wrong with this, it’s like a textbook mince pie I therefore give it 3.5….

Flavour: Sweet, but not too sweet. Not boozy at all which is odd as the package says it’s brandy infused. David thought this one zestier than Sainsbury’s

Consistency: Holds together well.

Appearance: Snowflake lattice lid, seems to be quite the favourite motif this year.

Pastry texture: Nice, not too sweet or buttery

Pastry to Fruit ratio: Not huge but there is a bit of an air gap

“They should call these Frosted Crack Fancies! Wow the cream, the texture, smaller is better, this just melt in your mouth, it’s an absolute taste sensation a mosaic of flavour! I’m seeing colours I’ve never seen before! Can I give it 5.1?”

Bonus! Mr Kipling’s Frosted Fancies taste test by David who’d never had one before! No methodology, I therefore record verbatim his reaction as follows:

Overall rating: I’d give this a solid 4. Leslie concurred. David in complete disregard for the system gave it 3.8 which therefore means those of you who want sliding scale decimals have got your wish as this averages out to a 3.9!
