The repair patches are fibreglass and you cut them down to size, they then go over the hole and you can skim plaster over the top with pollyfilla. But they would never be strong enough for you to put a screw in it to hold a shelf.

She was, as she freely admitted, a difficult actress – and did a lot of schlock in the 70s. This isn’t remotely the worst - try “Escape from Witch Mountain/Watcher in the Woods/Wicked Stepmother. Thankfully, she got to end her career with Lindsay Anderson’s magisterial “The Whales of August”
