Rubbing salt in the wound. Contacted a company to see why I had not received a refund for an item I returned, only to be told I did not check the little box requesting a refund, which did not exist on the form they sent me. Then they asked me to rate their service. Um, no.

As someone who lived through the Great Depression and WWII, my dad learned the hard way that if you can help someone, you do — and passed that on to me. I may not have much, but I have more than I need, and some people have nothing.
